Receptionist Job Responsibilities:

  1. Adheres to and conveys the philosophy of assisted living.
  2. Has awareness and practices in accordance with the regulations of the state.
  3. Is responsible for updating and keeping and making all kinds of records including resident and family records and other records as the different departments so need and desire.
  4. Updating doctor appointment calendar for the administrator.
  5. Communicates appropriately with Administrator, staff, residents, outside health care agencies, and others as appropriate.
  6. Consistently completes documentation using appropriate tools in accordance with policy.
  7. Maintains records in accordance with policy and procedure.
  8. Collects money for guest meals and keeps records.
  9. Demonstrates knowledge of infection control and universal precautions by watching and having people use hand sanitizer and wipes down front area including desk, railings, and doors.
  10. Assures door is alarmed at all times, if needed.
  11. Reports deficiencies observed in residents apartments and facility to administrator and maintenance as needed.
  12. Communicates regularly with administrator about tasks for the day as directed.
  13. Is thoroughly familiar with fire, missing persons, and other emergency procedures; follows facility policy and procedures detailed in fire and disaster plans.
  14. Avoids loss, breakage, and waste of supplies and equipment. Maintains a neat and orderly front desk area.
  15. Wears name tag at all times.
  16. Drives residents to and from doctor appointments and other places as requested by the administrator.
  17. Maintains resident records, employee records, and other various records.
  18. Is confident in telling visitors about building and taking them on tours.
  19. Supervises and monitors resident assistant staff on assigned shift.
  20. Performs all other related duties assigned by the administrator.
  21. Performs resident care with awareness of dignity and individuality, and with understanding and concern.
  22. Performs unpleasant tasks with grace; works cooperatively with supervisors and displays willingness to assist co-workers.
  23. Keeps resident information confidential; respects resident's rights; respects privacy and right to self-determination of residents.
  24. Abides by established policies and procedures of facility. Looks for ways to improve facility functioning.

Activity assistant Responsibilities:

  1. Residents shall be encouraged to maintain and develop their fullest potential for independent living through participation in activity and recreational programs.
  2. The activity assistant shall work in conjunction with the activity coordinator to provide opportunities for the following:
  3. Will assist and work with volunteers and be able to utilize the assistance from volunteers.
  4. Involve C.N.A.'s in assisting with group activities.
  5. Maintain inventory of needed supplies for a variety of different activities.
  6. Will contribute new ideas for the monthly activity calendar.
  7. Must do daily activity and attendance charting on each resident.
  8. Will follow monthly activity calendar on the days scheduled to work.
  9. Will ensure that activities are offered to each resident as identified on the resident service plan.
  10. Will assist in maintaining a scrapbook of facility new happenings and activities.
  11. Must participate in required monthly In-Services.
  12. Will make sure that the activity room is left clean and orderly at the end of their shift.
  13. Maintain a good working relationship with all customers; including residents, family members, community, vendors and staff.
  14. May be asked to work different days or hours should a special activity/event that requires more activity assistance, fall on a day off.
  15. Will provide 1:1 visits/interaction with residents that are not attending group activities.
  16. Will not participate in gossip of any kind.
  17. Will conduct self professionally.
  18. And all other duties required by Supervisor or Administration
