Overview
A globally recognized financial institution is seeking a Vice President, Credit Officer to join its Credit Department, supporting transactions with a diverse range of financial counterparties focused on banks and broker dealers. This role is ideal for a finance professional with a strong foundation in credit analysis and accounting who thrives in a high-impact, detail-oriented environment. You'll play a key role in reviewing and assessing complex credit proposals, supporting regulatory compliance, and influencing risk-based decision-making across the institutions financial institutions portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze credit risk across a wide range of financial counterparties including banks, broker/dealers, asset managers, insurance companies, and private funds
- Evaluate deal structures, facility terms, profitability, counterparty strategy, and regulatory considerations
- Prepare and present executive summaries and recommendations for credit applications submitted by the front office
- Coordinate credit approval processes between front office teams and credit department management
- Monitor the credit quality of existing counterparties and the overall transaction portfolio
- Provide strategic feedback to front office teams to ensure consistency, compliance, and quality in credit submissions
- Ensure adherence to internal credit policies and relevant U.S. regulatory requirements
- Participate in credit-related projects and support ongoing departmental initiatives
