Senior Mainframe Software Developer – COBOL / DB2 / CICS / Automotive Position Summary We are seeking a Senior Software Developer with strong mainframe application development expertise to support and enhance Auto Sales Applications. This role will involve complex enterprise-grade development projects, troubleshooting, and technical leadership across mission-critical systems. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in COBOL, DB2, CICS, and related IBM mainframe technologies, alongside strong automotive and sales process knowledge. Key Responsibilities Provide ongoing support and enhancements for Auto Sales Applications Collaborate with business and technical teams to analyze, design, and deliver solutions for automotive ordering, logistics, and sales business processes Develop, test, and implement software solutions using IBM mainframe technologies (COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM, CICS) Integrate client-server applications, .NET components, and stored procedure interfaces with mainframe systems Work with EDI, MQ, FTP, XML, and JSON for data integration and communication Contribute to large, complex application development projects in an enterprise environment Prepare documentation, deliver technical presentations, and communicate effectively with stakeholders Required Skills & Qualifications 10+ years of hands-on experience with:

IBM MVS, Z/OS, COBOL

Stored procedure interfaces with client-server and .NET

FTP, VSAM, DB2, CICS, EDI, MQ, JCL, LIBRARIAN, SDF

XML and JSON in enterprise environments Automotive industry experience in ordering, logistics, and sales business processes Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio) Excellent written and oral communication skills Experience in large, complex application development projects Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field preferred Desired Skills Automotive industry expertise (ordering, logistics, sales) 3+ years of Big 4 consulting experience preferred Stable work history with large enterprise organizations Compensation & Location Location: Onsite in Torrance, CA Pay Range: $56–$63 per hour, based on experience and internal equity Schedule: Full-time, contract; long-term multi-year opportunity Work Type: Onsite – 5 days in office Benefits: Health, Vision, Dental, Life Insurance, 401k, Continuing and on-demand education You must be willing to work onsite in Torrance, CA Sponsorship is AVAILABLE for this role ONLY W2 – NO CORP to CORP – NO 3rd Parties #J-18808-Ljbffr Delta Computer Consulting
