Summary:

Develops and provides services related to the orientation, continuing education, and assessment of clinical staff. The role of Senior Clinical Nurse Educator serves all aspects of nursing in the clinical setting: Educator, Consultant, Researcher, Facilitator, Change Agent, and Leader.

This role might require individuals to work days, evenings or/and weekends based on departmental needs. Specialty certification in Professional developing, pediatric, and/or Diabetes preferred. Knowledge on handtevy as well as APRN, clinical education or/and academic education preferred.

Responsibilities:

Plans, updates, and evaluates clinical competencies to assess quality of patient care delivered and ensure regulatory compliance.Synthesizes evaluation data to guide decision-making about educational programming.Conducts and/or contributes to nursing research.Serves as consultant/mentor/change agent to staff, clinical leaders, and others as appropriate.Manages the onboarding and orientation of all new employees and students on assigned unit(s).Conducts needs assessments using a variety of strategic tools.Leads committee, work groups/and/or projects related to the implementation of educational activities.Disseminates research, evidence-based practice, and quality improvement findings through activities such as presentations, publications, and consultation.Assists with developing specific departmental goal, standards and objectives which directly support the strategic plan and vision of the organization.
