Two Hands (twohandshospitality.com / @twohandsrestaurant) is seeking an experienced General Manager to oversee FOH and BOH operations for our restaurant in Williamsburg. Daytime hours only!

The successful candidate will work alongside Two Hands' CEO, COO, Director of Culinary Operations, and Culinary Director to oversee and manage daily restaurant operations and ensure that service principles, financial parameters, and quality of standards are met. The GM is responsible for management of the FOH and BOH facility, development of FOH and BOH operating systems, and facilitation of a successful working relationship between the FOH and BOH teams.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Financial Management: Spend time analyzing the revenue and expenses of the restaurant and identify where improvements can be made in each.
- Leadership, People Management, Teamwork: Demonstrate adaptive solutions that provide positive outcomes to problems and issues that arise. Promote and foster a positive work environment for all staff, encouraging a positive culture through leadership and communication. Oversee the work of the FOH and BOH teams by ensuring that food and beverages are prepped, cooked, and presented correctly.
- Hiring, Training, and Performance Management: Administer the hiring process (trials and training) in accordance with Two Hands’ hiring policies. Oversee training and development using correct training manuals, tests, and checklists for all staff. Conduct bimonthly full staff meetings and disperse meeting notes via email after meeting. In accordance with company policy, administer biannual employee performance reviews and develop growth plans for all employees. In line with company protocol, identify and take action when disciplinary action needs to be taken.
- Daily Operations: Ensure that the restaurant always meets DOH standards in both the FOH and BOH. Oversee and maintain the ordering for the restaurant. Complete accurate monthly inventory. Oversee the workflow of the kitchens by ensuring that food product is prepped, stored, and plated correctly. Oversee the workflow of the bar and coffee area by ensuring that beverage product is prepped, stored, and executed correctly. Ensure that the restaurant runs smoothly by troubleshooting issues as they come to hand, including but not limited to: POS, internet, electrical, plumbing, trash and recycling, overnight porters, furniture, fixtures, and equipment.
- Administration: Write the weekly schedule, ensuring that it is on budget and the restaurant is efficiently staffed. Onboard all staff according to procedure, completing all required HR documentation.
REQUIREMENTS
- Both FOH and BOH experience in restaurants similar to our concept or comparably fast-paced, high-volume, and innovative
- Management experience in similar restaurant environments
- Ability to work with and implement direction from core management team
- Understanding of and ability to manage financial requirements of a restaurant: COGS, portion control, recipe costing, invoice monitoring
- Mature leadership, teamwork, and people management skills
- Valid NY food handlers card
- Punctuality
- Ability and willingness to lead, have fun, and work well with a team
- A love for hospitality

*If moving is required to adequately fulfill the position, Two Hands will reimburse the cost of the move up to an agreed-upon amount that will be given within a qualitative timeline and if qualitative points are met.
