Rental Fleet ManagerDepartment: Aftermarket Sales

Summary
Oversee the strategy, operations, and performance of the company’s equipment rental fleet. This role requires a combination of business development, customer relationship management, and operational excellence. A key aspect of success in this position will be the ability to collaborate across functions—leveraging resources from across the company. The successful candidate will need to balance business needs with company-wide objectives, ensuring smooth coordination and minimal disruption to core operations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Rent water and wastewater equipment and processes through regional Independent Sales Representatives, as well as direct to customers.
- Define and implement strategy for all products within the rental market space.
- Monitor quotation schedule, proposal development, and pricing within the rental marketplace.
- Monitor all marketing, sales and warranty activities related to rentals and makes recommendations to enhance positioning and promotion.
- Promote business growth and increased market share through project development.
- Define, develop and implement rental business plan, forecast, programs and expenditures.
- Identify and develop markets for rental equipment through relationship building with key market players.
- Perform product sales and technical presentations, and provide technical sales support via phone, email, and occasional meetings in the field.
- Direct proposal activity for the rental team, including sizing of equipment, pricing decisions, and proposal review.
- Manage the rental fleet size, and make determinations on capital and maintenance expenditures as needed.
- Review rental applications to confirm applicability to rental fleet equipment.
- Review the commercial aspects of rental opportunities.
- Manage all aspects of the rental fleet, including inventory, utilization and logistics
- Monitor fleet performance, track KPIs (utilization, ROI, downtime, etc.), and prepare regular reports for leadership.
- Partner with Field Service, Engineering, Supply Chain and Manufacturing to ensure equipment readiness, design integrity and parts availability.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for new rental customers.
- Resolve customer issues quickly and professionally.

Must be computer literate and have familiarity with Microsoft Office software.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Usual office working conditions with moderate noise such as computers and printers, telephones and copy machines.
Minimum qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 5 years of related training and experience in equipment rental, fleet management or capital equipment sales. Strong understanding of water/wastewater equipment and industrial applications (preferred). Demonstrated ability to work effectively across functions and influence without direct authority. Proven track record of growing a business unit or product line.
