Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Plant Manager to lead day-to-day operations at our paper mill in the Northeast Indiana area. This leadership role is key to ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality production while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee daily mill operations, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and production standards.

• Manage a diverse team, including machine operators, maintenance technicians, and administrative staff.

• Support and execute production plans to meet output goals while maintaining top-tier product quality.

• Champion and enforce safety and environmental sustainability protocols across the facility.

• Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as production rates, quality metrics, and financial outcomes.

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives, identifying and implementing process enhancements to increase efficiency and reduce waste.

• Partner with cross-functional leadership and union representatives to ensure smooth plant operations.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Paper Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in paper manufacturing, including at least 3 years in a plant or operations management role.

• In-depth knowledge of paper manufacturing processes—fiber processing, papermaking, and finishing.

• Proven success leading and developing teams in a unionized environment.

• Strong foundation in Operational Excellence (OPEX) and implementing standard operating procedures (SOPs).

• Skilled in analyzing data and KPIs to drive performance and informed decision-making.

• Financial acumen with experience managing budgets and forecasting plant-level financial performance.

• Deep understanding of OSHA and environmental compliance standards.

• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

• A passion for the paper industry and a strong commitment to delivering high-quality products to customers.
