Job Summary

If you're   interested in   a Mid-Level Chemical Engineer job , then this is the best role for you! The role supports the 4 active ingredient (AI) process operations teams at our Kansas City Site 4. The successful candidate will help clear a backlog of action items, documentation updates, and improvement projects while also supporting the identification and implementation of longer-term processes , reliability, and training improvements. The position is primarily project-focused rather than day-to-day operations.

 

Job Description

  • Collaborate with site technical and operational team members to resolve outstanding PHA, MOC, optimization, and other action items for 1–4 chemical processes.
  • Complete technical definition, validation, and reporting for environmental data required for permitting and annual reporting.
  • Review and improve plant documentation, including startup, shutdown, and normal operations procedures and P&IDs.
  • Complete technical definition, documentation, and execution of pressure safety design packages.
  • Work with plant engineering resources to scope, document, and define implementation plans for process and reliability improvement projects.
  • Support improvements to plant training programs.
  • Work cross-functionally with engineers and support staff on project varied daily work.
  • Participate in team meetings, project discussions, and problem-solving activities.

 

Skills Required

  • Experience: 5+ years in process measurement and applications in a manufacturing, industrial, or engineering environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills (technical and non-technical).
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to work in cross-functional teams.
  • Technical skills in chemical processes, process measurement, and applications.
  • Curiosity and openness to learning new things.
  • Ability to lead small groups as well as work independently.
  • Knowledge of OSHA PSM/EPA RMP requirements and risk management techniques.
  • Intermediate computer skills.
  • Soft skills: humility, open-mindedness, ability to relate to people at all levels.

 

Education/Training/Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry , Chemical Engineering, or another engineering discipline.

 

Additional Requirements

  • Must pass a drug screening and criminal background check
  • Shift: 07 : 30 A M
  • Hours: Full-time, 40 hrs. /week, onsite, 8 hrs. /day .
  • Duration: 6 months with possible extension (no conversion).
  • PPE required: hard hat, steel-toe shoes, safety glasses (provided).

 

Pay Rate/Salary

  • Estimated Salary : $39.00 to $47.67 per hour based on qualifications.
