Title: Maintenance Technician
B Shift: M-Thu, 530p-530a. 12 hour shifts, Weekends.
Location: Chicago, IL
Type: Contract (4-6 months)
Our team is partnering with an automotive supplier to source an experienced Maintenance Technician to support their manufacturing operations. This position is ideal for a skilled technician with proven expertise in electrical systems, hydraulics, and welding. A welding certification is preferred, along with previous experience in an automotive manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on production equipment and facility systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, hydraulic equipment, and mechanical machinery.
- Execute welding and fabrication tasks as required; ensure all welds meet quality standards.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and equipment manuals to diagnose issues and implement solutions.
- Ensure all maintenance work complies with safety standards and company policies.
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs and communicate equipment status to supervisors and production teams.
- Assist in equipment installations, upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements:
- 5–7 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment (automotive industry experience preferred).
- Strong working knowledge of electrical systems, hydraulics, and welding techniques.
- Welding certification preferred (MIG, TIG, or Stick).
- No PLC experience needed.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
- Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
- Flexible to work various shifts and overtime as needed.
