Job Summary
Protects life and/or property through fire prevention, firefighting, search and rescue, and dive emergency activities using a variety of firefighting emergency techniques and equipment.
Requirements
Candidates must be at least 21 years of age, have a high school diploma or GED, and a valid driver’s license. A minimum of one year of field experience performing firefighter duties is required. Successful completion of S130/190 course is required. Successful completion of IS-100, IS-200, IS-700 and L-180 courses required within 30 days of employment. First Aid/ CPR certification is required within 60 days of employment. Successful completion of S290 course is preferred. Faller Class A or B certification is preferred.
Additional Information
The selection process includes, but is not limited to, a panel interview. Prior to employment, candidates will complete a background investigation, polygraph examination, and physical examination to include a drug screen. The expected duration of the selection process will not normally exceed two months. Candidates not selected may reapply in the future. Although the entire pay range is posted, this position starts at the minimum of $19.31 per hour.
