Firefighter Civil Service Examination

  The City of Bethlehem is accepting applications for the position of Firefighter from 8:30 AM on June 30, 2025 through 3:00 PM on August 1, 2025 . The Civil Service Entrance Exam will be held on August 23, 2025. 

Starting Annual Salary (2026): $60,673.

Minimum Requirements:

• S. citizenship or naturalization


• At least 18 years of age by August 1, 2025


• S. diploma or GED


• Valid driver’s license.


• Must establish residency within 15 miles (as the crow flies) of City Hall (10 E. Church Street, Bethlehem, PA 18018) within one year of hire.

• Completed and signed application form


• Copy of H.S. diploma or GED


• Copy of birth certificate


• Copy of valid driver’s license


• Copy of social security card


• Notarized Civil Service Voucher


• $50 money order payable to “City of Bethlehem” (non-refundable)


• DD-214, Member 4 Form (if claiming veteran’s preference)
