Private Investigator (PI) - Colorado (Contract)Overview
We're looking for a licensed Private Investigator (PI) in Colorado to join our team on a contract (1099) basis. This is a hybrid position , and you will not be required to use any of our office facilities. The ideal candidate will be available to conduct investigations on behalf of our clients within a 2-week window from the time a case is assigned. Investigations typically focus on individual cases, such as infidelity or fraud, and require professionalism, discretion, and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough and discreet investigations for clients, including surveillance, evidence collection, and reporting.
- Respond to case assignments within a 2-week window, ensuring timely initiation of investigative work.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of investigative activities, including written reports and supporting documentation.
- Adhere to all Colorado state laws , regulations, and ethical standards governing private investigations.
- Communicate effectively with our team to coordinate case details and provide updates on progress.
- Attend in-person meetings with clients when a case requires it. Transportation costs for these meetings will be covered.
Requirements
- Valid Colorado Private Investigator license.
- Speaking directly with the client is required.
- Proven experience in conducting private investigations, preferably with a focus on individual cases such as infidelity, surveillance, harassment, etc..
- Ability to be available within a 2-week window to start investigations when cases are assigned.
- Strong observational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for preparing reports and client interactions.
- Reliable transportation and necessary investigative equipment (e.g., cameras, recording devices).
- Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality.
Compensation
- Pay Rate : $45–$60 per hour, depending on experience and case complexity.
- Estimated Cases per Month : Approximately 1–14 with opportunities to grow and run a team with us.
- Employment Type : Contract (1099), no benefits provided at this time; potential to change in the near future.
