Job Description
COO - Electrical Power & Safety Solutions
Compensation: $150K–$200K base + 20% bonus + ESOP equity
Are you a growth-minded leader ready to take the reins of a high-impact business unit and turn potential into performance? This is your opportunity to shape the future of a purpose-driven, employee-owned company with over 50 years of legacy and a laser focus on safety, innovation, and industrial power and safety excellence.
We’re looking for a strategic Chief Operating Officer executive to lead Power & Safety Solutions, a thriving division that delivers Arc Flash analysis, electrical engineering, safety training, and field services for industrial and municipal clients across the Midwest and beyond. The team is solid. The foundation is strong. Now we need a leader who can scale it.
What You’ll Lead
You’ll take charge of a multi-disciplinary division with four established service areas:
- Electrical engineering & design
- Field services & Arc Flash data collection
- Electrical safety training (70E compliance)
- Arc Flash analysis and labeling
Each function has its own experienced leader already in place. Your mission is to unify, guide, and grow them into the next chapter.
What Success Looks Like
Within your first 12 months, you’ll:
- Align and execute a strategic growth plan for the division
- Understand key service offerings well enough to confidently represent them to clients and partners (you don’t need to be an expert—just curious and driven to learn)
- Cultivate new business relationships and identify areas for expansion
- Mentor team leads and develop future leadership
- Build trust across all levels—from the field to the boardroom
What You Bring
- 10+ years of experience in electrical, construction, or engineering industries (ideally with an industrial client focus)
- Experience leading teams and driving business growth, whether you’ve held an executive title before or not
- Understanding of or familiarity with Arc Flash, 70E safety standards, engineering/design, and field operations (you can grow into the details)
- A track record of building relationships and aligning teams around a shared vision
- Comfort navigating change, technology shifts, and operational scaling
- Business development or P&L responsibility
- Engineering degree or PE license preferred
- BIM or 3D design familiarity
- Experience with compliance-driven training and/or system integration
What You’ll Love
- You’ll be an owner. Literally. As part of an employee-owned company, you’ll share in the success you help build, starting day one.
- You’ll have real impact. The team has set its sights on doubling revenue in the next decade. You’ll help make that happen.
- You’ll be supported. Flexible scheduling, comprehensive health coverage, 401(k), tuition support, paid parental leave, hybrid work options, and a strong internal development program.
- You’ll be joining a values-driven culture. We lead with curiosity, integrity, wellness, and courage, while staying deeply connected to our people and our clients.
Let’s Talk!
If you’re energized by the idea of leading an established and talented team toward bold new goals, we’d love to hear from you. This is a leadership opportunity that offers not just a seat at the table, but the chance to shape the table.
