Job Description: The Business Systems Analyst conducts business process analysis, needs assessments, and preliminary cost/benefits analysis to align information technology solutions with business initiatives. This position may serve as a liaison between the business line and the Information Technology (IT) department.
Primary Responsibilities
- Formulates/defines specifications for operating software applications or modifies/maintains complex existing applications using engineering releases and utilities.
- Analyzes and evaluates existing or proposed systems and devises computer programs, systems, and procedures to process data.
- Prepares charts and diagrams to assist in problem analysis and recommends solutions.
- Develops coding logic flowcharts, prepares program specifications and diagrams.
- Encodes, tests, debugs, and installs operating programs and procedures in coordination with computer operations and user departments.
- Reviews progress, evaluates results, and reports inconsistencies to management with suggestions for problem resolution and process improvements.
- Provides on-call support rotation after hours and/or weekends as required by certain business groups.
This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED with seven (7) years of related experience, or
- Bachelor's degree with three (3) years of related experience.
Preferences
- Banking or financial services industry experience.
- Experience providing application support, including troubleshooting.
- Experience with business intelligence tools.
- Familiarity with agile and/or waterfall methodologies.

- Ability to plan, schedule, and execute multiple activities concurrently.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong knowledge of systems and software development concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Research, data analysis, and fact derivation skills.

- Knowledge of testing tools.
- Problem-solving and priority management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Comments for Suppliers: The preferred candidate will have manual QA testing experience and experience in writing Business Requirements.
