Job Title: Animal Technician III
Job Duration: 12 Months
Location: Lexington, MA 02421
Work Schedule: Onsite- Monday to Friday – 1st Shift
Pay Rate - $29/hr. on W2
Job Details:
Responsible for advanced animal handling, dosing, sample collections, and data recording . Will provide technical assistance for research projects within the NNRC rodent facility.
Key Must-Haves:
- Hands-on experience in rodent animal handling and in-life measurements.
- Proficient in bleeding and sample collection.
- Skilled in animal dosing via various routes of administration: PO (oral), IP (intraperitoneal), and SC (subcutaneous).
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in animal science/lab support.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Perform and record daily food intake and health checks for pharmacology studies.
- Experience with anesthesia and euthanasia of animals.
- Post-procedural and post-surgical monitoring.
- Conduct sample and data collection.
- Perform necropsy and tissue collection.
- Manage inventory and stock of animal care and research supplies.
- Provide technical support for injection administrations.
- Comprehend and comply with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and quality assurance standards related to lab animal care .
